Things need To Bring Offshore

1.0 SAFETY HELMET

I do not normally carry this with me. Whenever I go onboard I borrow (or get a new one from the warehouse) a safety helmet:

Reason – Takes up too much space in the bag

2.0 SHOES

Shoes: Red Wings shoes are synonym in the oil and gas industry. I carry my personal shoes offshore

Reason – Comfortable footwear is important. Plus you may never get the shoes size you want from the vessel warehouse. Not like a helmet, shoes are not adjustable

3.0 COVERALL

Depends, sometime I carry them offshore and sometime I get new ones from the warehouse.

Reason – Again, size availability is a major problem.

4.0 SAFETY GLASSES

I bring my own safety glasses to offshore

Reason – It is a prescription glass + Birthday present from my lovely wife so it is a must to wear

5.0 JUNK FOOD/CANDIES/SNACKS

When you will be away for 1-2 months sometime you crave for your favorite candies

Reason – Not all vessels have bond store and sell junk food to your liking

6.0 PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION

I bring some tables offshore depends on the illness.

Reason – There are medic onboard the vessel is design to treat cases that arise during offshore operation and it is not a pharmaceutical store

7.0 MOVIES

I do not normally take any movies offshore

Reason – A lot of the project crews will have this onboard and I can just get it of them.
